April 15 Nelchina Caribou Herd Update Online 7pm. Please join Glennallen Area Biologist, Heidi Hatcher, for an overview of the history and status of the Nelchina caribou herd. Learn how annual surveys and inventory programs guide hunt administration for sustainable management of the herd. Register in advance for this meeting.

April 24 What can we do outside? Make Your Spring WILD! Online Parents and educators! Its time to get those kids outside! Join us for a virtual yet interactive workshop that will include fun activities on tracks and animals signs, leaves and trees and plenty of dirty knees! May 4 Western Arctic Caribou Herd Update Online 7pm. Please join Caribou Biologist, Alex Hansen, for an overview of the history and status of the Western Arctic caribou herd. Register in advance for this meeting.
June 19 Wildlife Tracks and Sign (Alaskans Afield) Fairbanks Register at Alaskans Afield

Join wildlife tracker and naturalist, Mike Taras, for a day in the field learning to identify a myriad of evidence left behind by animals. You will learn about animal behavior, how to identify tracks and other sign, gaits, track patterns, aging tracks, and more. Also learn observation and awareness skills to help you see more wildlife. Bring some food, water, and clothing for the weather. Be prepared to walk for a few hours, sometimes on uneven terrain. Adults and youth (11 and up) accompanied by an adult.
June 23 Beginner Map & Compass Course (Alaskans Afield) Fairbanks Register at Alaskans Afield

Want to learn how to read a map or operate a compass? This class is designed to teach the beginner basic map and compass skills that will help you navigate the outdoors with confidence. Learn about different types of maps and compasses and other basic orienteering and map reading skills. Learn how to "orient" a map and operate a compass so you can find your location or set a course.
